Molybdenum is a silver-gray metal that does not occur in its pure form in nature. It is found mainly in sulfur-containing ores, often together with copper, and is extracted as a by-product in copper mining.
In the periodic table, molybdenum has the atomic number 42 and the symbol Mo. It has an extremely high melting point of 2,610 degrees Celsius. The name "molybdenum" is derived from the Greek word "molybdos", which means "lead-like" - a reference to its color.

Molybdenum Products

Briquetas de molibdeno
Aircraft engines require special alloys that can withstand the highest temperatures. Molybdenum is used here, among other things, and is added as a metal in the form of briquettes during alloy production.

Molybdenum oxides
MoO2 and MoO3 are produced as by-products and intermediate products in the highest purity at the site in Bitterfeld. Turbine blades made of special alloys contain, among other things, molybdenum, which is added in oxide form during the manufacturing process.

Molybdenum metal powder
MOLYMET Germany specializes in the production of molybdenum metal powders by reduction in a hydrogen atmosphere. These powders are manufactured in Bitterfeld using high-quality raw materials.
• All products are produced exactly according to specifications
• The quality of the chemical and physical properties meets the highest standards.
